Analysis of the Debate Analysis

Welcome back folks, today I am probably going to make every single person that reads this angry and I'm okay with that. I'm gonna do a brief breakdown of how people are responding to the Presidential Debate and why they are all idiots. Some guidance to help my readers with their blood pressure, if you think Trump is the worst president ever, stop reading after the section labeled "the right". If you think Trump is the greatest president ever, skip the section labeled "the right" and read the one labeled "the left". The basic premise of this blog is that everyone is being dumb. People on both sides have seemed to adopt the belief that if their candidate did it, it must be right.  I'm going to break down specifics from each side and also offer some advice on how to win the election, so let's go.

The Right

Trump Derangement Syndrome has spread to the right. Slightly different symptoms than when the disease presents on the left, people on the right with TDS are under the impression that Trump does no wrong. The most glaring example is the acrobatic justification for Trump not condemning white supremacy during the debate. Was the question loaded? Yes. Did Trump do a terrible job handling the question? Yes. Stop making excuses and own up to the fact that he missed one. Every time the justification starts "Your right, but.." it's wrong. He done messed up and you can admit it. The second prevailing take is that Trump won the debate versus both Biden and Wallace. This is also weak. If you want to know who won read my previous blog (spoiler: It wasn't Trump). The moderator was not against Trump. Wallace was in a hard spot from the get go and did the best he could. Did he get it perfect? No. Was he intentionally favoring Trump? No. He was a referee trying his best in an impossible situation. The last idiotic take from the right is the argument that Biden was disrespectful. Have you looked at Trump lately? Biden played on Trump's level and calling him out for it makes you look like a hypocrite. The name calling and personal attacks started in 2015 and hasn't stopped. You can not watch your candidate do it for 5 years and then cry when the other side does it. It stupid. One last thing, stop with the hidden mike in the sleeve talk. There is literally no reason for that to be a thing. Anyone feeding Biden info would be watching the debate and wouldn't need a hidden mike to know what was being said. If Trump is going to win this thing, y'all need to stop focusing on what the left tells you to. Focus on what Trump has done right and admit when he screws up. Getting into pointless arguments over white supremacy distracts from the actual issues facing the country and will not change any undecideds/moderates to your side.

The Left

Stop acting like Biden won the debate. If you want to know who won the debate read my previous blog (spoiler: It wasn't Biden). Second, stop hammering the "Trump is a white supremacist and racist" take. He's not. The only people that think that are on the far left. The writers at CNN that write Trump is a racist articles don't believe it, they just know it will get clicks. There is literally no one that is going to read your hot take on Trump refusing to condemn white supremacy and go "Huh, I was undecided until I saw this, now I'm voting a straight Democrat ticket." It's asinine and does more to harm your candidate than help. Last, stop harping on how bad Trump is. Everyone and their brother, cousin, and long lost third uncle's best friend knows y'all hate Trump. Tell me something good that Biden is going to do. Tell me about his platform. Tell me what he is going to do different. I spend an unhealthy amount of time on Facebook and Twitter and have not seen a single post bragging about what Biden said good in the debate. If you run a negative campaign you will get negative results.

Summary

My overall point of this is that all the hardos on both sides are being idiots and not doing anything to change the election. People that supported Biden before the debates aren't reading hot takes on Biden being rude and changing their mind. People that supported Trump before the debate aren't reading hot takes on Trump supporting white supremacy and changing their mind. People who are undecided or don't like either candidate are watching the shit show and wishing there was a better option while all the hot takes from the blue checkmark brigade and the Parler crowd reinforce their opinion that y'all are idiots. (By people, I mean me, I'm people). I don't really care who you vote for as long as you vote. The point of this blog is not to change anyone's mind on who they support, just to say be smarter in how you support them. Stay safe everyone, get on the bus (White Sox fans welcome), and Cubs in 3.
