Don't drink the koolaid, pt. 3

Ok folks, apparently the 20ish people that read my blog haven't managed to change the world yet so here we go with another edition of don't drink the koolaid. I am going to hit both the left and right this time around so, if you don't like the first part just power through to the second.
First up is this gem of an article. The whole point of this article is that the rona is never going away. The author completely ignores any possibility that a vaccine or herd immunity may occur and proceeds to explain that Trump and "idiot army of supporters" are actively trying to spread the virus. Some quotes. "Trump doesn’t have a plan to beat the virus. He never did. He’s been encouraging his Idiot Army to spread it. He’s on the side of the pandemic. He’s not about to have a plan. But…"
I'm not here to argue whether or not Trump has done a good job, but saying he is on the side of the pandemic is definitely leaving the realm of logical thought and drinking the koolaid. "You can’t beat Coronavirus without a national strategy or plan. Sorry, can’t be done. The examples we have from around the globe show us that very, very clearly. Sweden — no plan. Bang! Done. Vietnam — poor country. Plan. Wham! Virus beaten. See the lesson?" My problem with this statement? Sweden 173,000 sq. miles. Vietnam 127,000 sq. miles. USA 3.797 million sq. miles. We are not the same. Sweden and Vietnam together are less than a third of the population of the USA. What is neccessary and works in Manhattan is not what's necessary in my town in the middle of nowhere population 600. This country is too diverse and spread out for a one size fits all national plan. To pretend otherwise is drinking the koolaid. "Even if Trump loses the election — and hands over power peacefully, which are two big “ifs” — America’s not going to have a national Coronavirus strategy until Biden takes office." I'm going to take a little bit of a left turn here and ask where did this "if Trump hands over power peacefully" shit come from? I've seen it claimed several times without any supporting evidence. Maybe it's out there and I haven't seen it? I don't know. Now, the crown jewel. I have skipped over a lot because there just isn't time. But the author, basically says a vaccine will take a minimum five years, America will become isolated from the world, and we are all going to die because of moronic Trump and his idiot followers. Now, the crown jewel.  "Or the consequences of that depression: more political extremism, less trust in institutions, more superstition and folly and hate," He writes an entire article based on political extremism and hate, and then warns that political extremism and hate will occur. Talk about a self fulfilling prophecy. This guy has drank so much of the CNN koolaid its ridiculous.

Now the other side. Those that drink the koolaid on the right like to point out deaths from other diseases. Tuberculosis is not rona. Flu is not rona. Stop. Go to the CDC website, look at the data and use that. The rona is new and unknown so stop comparing it to other shit and drinking the Fox News koolaid. I know this is a shorter segment, but I haven't come across an article about this, just Facebook posts.

Stay safe, don't watch the news, question everything, and cheer for the Black and Gold this fall.
