Who will replace Uncle Joe?

I'm gonna start this by saying I still think Biden will be the nominee. I still have money on it. I think the sexual assault allegation will hurt him, but the DNC will rally and keep him in the race. That being said who will replace him if he has to drop out? The biggest factor here is that if Biden drops out, superdelegates will determine the nominee at the convention. That means the DNC. Superdelegates are not elected, they are appointed and they do what the DNC says. So, with that in mind, here we go.

Bernie Sanders
Nope. But what if..... nope. Does not matter. No what if exists that makes Bernie the candidate. The DNC will shut that down by any means necessary. Where's the proof? Klobuchar and Mayor Pete dropping out right before Super Tuesday was the DNC nailing the door shut on Bernie.

Pete Buttigieg
I would vote unlikely. He doesn't have the experience and I don't feel like he can beat Trump. The Trump vs. Mayor Pete debates would be great but if the DNC doesn't think he can beat Trump, he doesn't get the nomination.

Amy Klobuchar
This is an interesting option. She has done well in a purple state and has never lost an election. She is very similar to Biden on policy and would attract alot of moderate and independents. That being said there was beginning to be some noise right before she dropped out about the connection between donations received and bills introduced. I'm not saying it's true, but if it is, that would be alot of ammo for Trump and his anti establishment position.

Elizabeth Warren
I think Warren is definitely top 2, if not top choice for replacing Biden. She had several good debate performances and has the grass roots fundraising behind her. I somehow ended up on her email list and she hasn't stopped fundraising to this day. She would pull alot of the Bernie Bros into the tent but has more appeal for the moderate side of the party than Bernie.

Andrew Cuomo
He is front and center based solely on his coronavirus news conferences. He has been front and center since the beginning. He has also gone toe to toe with Trump on some issues while complimenting him on others. This would appeal to alot of moderates and independents. Downside is not alot of national experience or exposure before now but recency bias could overcome that. I also think he is a dark horse for the VP slot.

Michael Bloomberg
I have him here as almost an afterthought because he is D-O-N-E done. Cuomo has made him look silly every step of the way. He has no chance.

Feel free to debate me. Stay safe everybody and in case you missed my earlier blog FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!

  1. What about The Squad? Surely a former bar tender, a home wrecker that may have married her brother, a mentally unstable woman, and someone who is best known for just generally hating Trump should all be considered.
